A Brief History of Hindu Yoga

The oldest known early documentation of yoga has been a terreiyaka which references a time when the ancestor of yoga was an animal. There were a number of examples of human adoption or incorporation of animal-based yoga practices in the Vedic and Hindu texts. Some of the oldest known forms of yoga focused on man. They included law, medicine, gods, and rituals. The godship of India has specific references to body and mind. Yoga influenced the growth of the Indian civilization from its earliest days and today still serves as an inspirational framework for many people and institutions.

The Origination of Yoga

At the peak of human evolution, the world was believed to be divided into two parts: the yoni (or female part) and the goat, the sahib (or male part). The yoni was thought to be its own entity. The yoni showed the human self who it was and how it was to live. She also was the figure of beauty and femininity in nature.

The introduction of yoga was as a result of the urge to look deep inside the yoni of the animal and discover the yoni’s concept of the universe. Yoga was introduced to humans to complement the yoni because it was such a valuable practice. As I mentioned earlier, a scholar in India in the dawn of the first millennium BC, wrote in 2500 B.C. of Goddess Gufa, who was known as the earth goddess of which, were the Sun. During the Vedic period, the yoni was considered a host to the solar system; Gufa was a reincarnation of the earth goddess Ganesha and her daughter, who was called Gauthama.

When such “eyeballs” as the yoni saw humans, they recognized that humans are part of a greater, entire world, and we all need to come together with enlightened minds to respect one another and live a good and healthy life. People in Hindu mythology also have a tradition of worshiping Mother Goddess, who is considered to be our whole self.

Mother Goddess is a feminine force, which is believed to offer protection and guidance. It is believed that the yoginis are human beings who embody this energy in positive aspects of human existence, while protecting us from hurt and pain. There are many recorded accounts of how yoginis protect, guide, and protect humans from evil in the Vedas and Banyan Trees. Ajanta (The Divine Weave) A Yoga Mahasabha is the order that used to govern the yoga communities. The yamas and sams of The Aya Yoga Mahasabha is summarized in the text Art of Self-Improvement:

Regarding the Yoga Mahasabha:

The yoga Mahasabha is here to stay, and has never ceased to serve humanity. Yoga is a part of life and one need not abandon it. It is a very much part of the evolving consciousness of the universe. Most of these concepts are because we had this need to uncover a part of ourselves which is hidden. For enlightenment, which requires greatness of thought, every one who is conscious should make a conscious effort to uncover the yoni and take out the aspects that have given good to humanity.
